Beartooth played the O2 Academy in Birmingham, UK earlier this week when some audience member took it upon themselves to be a dick to vocalist and guitarist Caleb Shomo's wife.
“I put on a show for these people who paid good money, just like yourself, but you do not talk to anybody like that," said Shomo on stage. "I don't care who it is, especially not my fucking wife, so why the…"
Venue security was then pulled into the situation, at which point Shomo asked everyone to calm down so things could be assessed. "Quiet down, quiet down. Don't encourage him. Let them date care of it," he said. Once everything cooled off, Shomo added: "Alright, anyway… Jesus! I don't think anybody in the world needs to be talked to like that, but he messed with the wrong fucking person tonight."
Shomo has since taken to his Instagram to express his love for his wife, which I think we all got by virtue of the aforementioned public scolding. But hey – good on Shomo for not taking shit from some random person. I guess the overarching lesson here is maybe just don't be a dick to people.
"You deserve nothing but love respect appreciation and empowerment every day of your life as that's the energy you give to anyone fortunate enough to cross your path myself included," wrote Shomo. "I love you so much sweetheart"
