Update: Farrell has issued the following statement: "This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday's show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation."

Original story: Well that's that for the Jane's Addiction reunion.

It all started on May 23, 2024 when Jane's Addiction played their first show as their classic lineup of Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Eric Avery since 2010. Jane's Addiction dropped their first single in 34 years with that lineup, they announced a tour, and everything was good.

Then things got iffy. During a show on September 13 at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, MA, Farrell assaulted Navarro on stage. According to video footage, Farrell walked over to Navarro and aggressively bumped him with his shoulder, got up in Navarro's face right afterward, and even threw a punch before a roadie and Avery broke it up.

Jane's Addiction then issued an apology for the on-stage incident and cancelled their September 15 show in Bridgeport, CT. Farrell's wife also took to Instagram at the time to explain the situation, saying Farrell was frustrated that the band was too loud and that his voice was being drown out. Coupled with being sick and a raucous crowd, Farrell took it out on Navarro.

Now, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, Jane's Addiction has gone on hiatus and cancelled the remainder of their tour dates.

"To all the fans, The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group," wrote Jane's Addiction. "As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour. Refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc, please reach out to them direct."

Navarro, Avery, and Perkins also issued their own statement, saying:

"Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.

"Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.

"We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.

"Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen."
