THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN have posted the following update regarding the rumors of drummer Chris Pennie’s departure from the band:
“6pm EST Friday we will make a major announcement concerning our band, it’s members, and our future. Also, various music fansites have been reporting information and speculation about our band. None of these or some of these or all of these may be true. Regardless, DO NOT believe what anyone tells you unless you hear it here. Having said that, believe whatever you want. Some people will be wrong and some people will be right.”
The PRP is reporting Gil Sharone of Stolen Babies fame looks to be handling the drums for the band in the studio where they are working on their new album. In the interim the band have allegedly been scouting a new permanent replacement for Pennie, with Ash Pearson of Sound Of The Swarm/Just Cause fame said to be a top candidate for the spot.
