It has recently been revealed that Black Label Society and Down would be touring together before the Golden Gods Awards this year, not that we needed a reason for an awesome tour but there it is. Which means that guitarist Zakk Wylde, who has openly stated he would be good for a Pantera reunion and would fill in for deceased guitarist Dimebag Darrell in the past, and former Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo would be on the same stage together. So why not bust out the Pantera jams? Wylde was recently interview on a Syracuse, N.Y. radio station called 95X when he spilled the beans about the potential jams.
"Me and Phil were speaking on the phone, talking about how excited we are, like a bunch of little schoolgirls. We were both very jovial and excited.
"But no… me and Phil were just talking and said, yeah, maybe we should throw down on something early and legit and something that has some weight. We discussed that.
"Me and Phil were laughing our asses off, talking about the comedy of the music business and everything like that, and what's going on with the bands.
"Whenever I talk to Phil, we're always laughing our balls off; it's always a good time. 'Cause I'm buddies with all the guys in Down — Phil as well.
"It's definitely gonna be a good time, man."
I say why not- obviously Wylde and Dimebag were good friends and Wylde's not just going to half-ass Dimebag's parts. The dude is passionate about his playing and music! Plus Anselmo is sounding better and more pissed off than he ever has before recently, so it could be really awesome.
