In a world where creativity knows no bounds, YouTuber Michael Kupris, widely recognized as Become The Knight, has taken the art of music to a whole new level. Forget everything you thought you knew about guitars, because what he's done is nothing short of legendary, transforming an ancient weapon into arguably the most epic musical instrument we've ever witnessed.
This past September 21st, Kupris unveiled his creation to the world – one that he kept under wraps for years – via a YouTube community post: "I was keeping this a secret for years lol! This has never been done before, making a functional guitar out of a sword. And I doubt anyone will beat me to this. It's extremely difficult, a massive challenge for any tech without just slapping a fretboard on it (which would be lame imo)."
“Right when we got out of lockdown, I started visiting my local guitar store [World Music Nashville] which is now permanently closed. Chris Roberts of [Vibratone Guitars] was working with me on this absolute beast and we had to pause it for several years. It seems as though we may be at a point where we can pick this project back up again. Will keep you posted when it's finished. God bless.”
His followers were in awe when they caught a glimpse of the photos showcasing this sword-guitar hybrid. Comments flooded in, with one enthusiast declaring, "That's actually one of the coolest things I ever seen from you stick with it Mike." Other users chimed in, exclaiming, "Now that is freaking dope!!!" or "You can't get more metal than that."
According to Metal Hammer, Kupris, not just a mastermind behind the sword-guitar, is also an integral part of the progressive metal band Crusade. Since launching the Become The Knight channel in 2015, he has amassed an impressive following of 191,000 subscribers.
While he's best known for his entertaining reaction videos, where he dissects rock and metal content, Kupris also shares insights into the work of pop musicians, from Cardi B to Post Malone. His versatility and passion for music shine through in everything he does.
