Watch: MATT HEAFY Jumped Off Stage To Save A Crowdsurfer After Security Missed Them

Matt Heafy, a hero.

Trivium Crowdsurfer

Trivium frontman Matt Heafy had to dive off the stage mid-song to protect an incoming crowdsurfer that security completely missed. The almost-incident happened during a show on June 7 in Dallas, TX, and Heafy has shared footage of it all going down below.

As Heafy helped the crowdsurfer, bassist Paolo Gregoletto addressed security asking them to be a little more spread out and mindful of crowdsurfers. Because y'know, falling from a height of probably six or seven feet over a security barrier, and headfirst onto the hard floor seems like a bad thing.

"Hey security. You need to go the whole way across and not bunch up in the middle," said Gregoletto. "Our singer's not [gonna be] jumping off the stage to catch people tonight, okay? We're not gonna start until there's a couple more people down here."

"Don't ever say we don't love our fans," wrote Heafy alongside the video. "Absent security in that spot – dude almost broke his neck – and I had to jump down and catch him! Whew. Had to check on a second person on martyr – if that was you – please lmk if you're alright. Dallas. Holy shit."

We're just glad everyone is alright. Special shout out to Heafy for being a fucking hero. Catch Trivium on tour with Beartooth, Malevolence, and Archetypes Collide at one of the dates below and get your tickets here.
