These days, Oregon's Yob are best known for pushing the stoner doom genre forward with their deliberate, intense songwriting. With legacy comes perspective, which we get plenty of with the 2023 remaster and reissue of Yob's debut album, Elaboration of Carbon, which was originally released in 2002.

In addition to the fact that Elaborations of Carbon sounds excellent with the 2023 update, this marks the album's first time on vinyl (via Relapse) and also the first time the album is widely available on streaming, starting immediately.

“At long last, Elaborations Of Carbon is available to anyone who wants it, and on vinyl no less!" comments frontman Mike Scheidt. "It’s wild that EOC was first released over 20 years ago, counting the 4-song burned CD-R version we handed out to friends before releasing the 6-song album. We were swinging for the rafters, and gave it everything we had. It’s been a blast to revisit this album and remember all of the good times we had.”

Elaborations of Carbon was mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis Music and features new artwork by Orion Landau. You can also catch Yob on tour with Cave In and Pallbearer.
