RIPPED TO SHREDS Does What Their Band Name Says On New Single "Reek Of Burning Freedom"

This band is so heavy.

Ripped To Shreds is here to rip you all to shreds once again with their new record 劇變 (Jubian) due out October 14. The band is now streaming the first single "Reek Of Burning Freedom" alongside a music video directed by Kevin Burleigh. If you're into the old-school HM-2 chainsaw style of death metal, you need this song and everything else Ripped To Shreds has ever done in your life. Trust me.

The cover art for 劇變 (Jubian) was created by Chinese artist Guang Yang and is Mazu, the Taiwanese sea goddess. "I felt like it was important to have something standing in for Chinese people," said Lee, adding that a driving force behind Ripped To Shreds has been "to increase the visibility of ABCs [American-born Chinese] in extreme metal by being very blatantly Chinese."

As for the single itself, Ripped To Shreds frontman Andrew Lee said it's "'an anti-war song' that incites to remind its discerning listers of the United States’ 'indiscriminate bombing' campaign waged on North Korea during the Korean War." Pre-order 劇變 (Jubian) here.
