Judge Dimisses Rape & Death Threat Lawsuit Against MARILYN MANSON

The dismissed case will still move forward.

Marilyn Manson recently pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor counts of simple assault in New Hampshire after spitting on a videographer during a concert in August 2019. Manson turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department on July 8 after a warrant was out for his arrest in New Hampshire, and was subsequently booked and released on personal recognizance bail.

According to Associated Press, Manson's attorney Kent Barker is making the argument that the videographer Susan Fountain should have understood the risk of "incidental contact."

"The defendant's performance for the past twenty years are well known to include shocking and evocative antics similar to those that occurred here. The alleged victim consented to exposing herself to potential contact with sweat, saliva and phlegm in close quarters."

Barker later adds that "any contact related to spitting or sneezing was unintentional." which I guess would make more sense if there wasn't video of Manson straight up spitting on Fountain. If convicted, Manson could be jailed for less than one year and incur a $2,000 fine.

Aside from the above, a judge has also dismissed a separate lawsuit against Manson from an anonymous woman who claimed Manson raped threatened to kill her in 2011.

California Superior Court Judge Gregory Keosian dismissed the lawsuit, who said the woman's unearthed repressed memories were not detailed enough to overcome the statute of limitations. The anonymous woman's legal said in an interview with Rolling Stone they plan to amend the case and move forward.

"Marilyn Manson wants to silence our client about her rape. He tried to use technical legal arguments to get her case thrown out altogether. The judge thoughtfully analyzed the case law, and rightfully held that her case can go forward, so long as she amends her complaint to add some additional details.

"We intend to amend with those additional details very shortly, and look forward to the opportunity to make Manson answer for his actions."
