It seemed pretty safe to assume that when Tallah announced they were doing an Aladdin covers EP on March 31, that it was likely going to be an April Fools joke. Then the band dropped a cover of "Friend Like Me" and now we're questioning how much of a joke this actually is.
Tallah has promised a five-song effort, with "Friend Like Me" being the first installment. So we'll see what happens. As for the cover itself, it's shockingly not bad. I expected the usual "metal band does metal verses and then sings the actual chorus" trope on this and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't.
Still, weird choice. I want more.
