As I mentioned in a previous A/V Roundup, I was a huge fan of the D. I listened their 2001 self-titled debut record nonstop for the better part of that year. I loved their HBO show, and their movie, The Pick of Destiny was awesome (even though it totally tanked at the box office). The D went away for a while since then, and I sort of forgot about the band. Jack Black became a super famous (and sort of super annoying) movie star so I was pretty much over it.
Today, the D released the above video. I guess it's a music video, but really it's just a 6 minute sketch explaining the band's return with their new album, Rize of the Fenix (which comes out May 15th). The video features cameos from Val Kilmer, Josh Groban, Dave Grohl (who also plays drums on this and all D records) and some other cameos and about 60 seconds of new music. How do you feel about the D? Are you pumped to have 'em back?
