Coronavirus is a very real danger, but it's also causing a lot of misinformation, like the idea that you can wear a face mask to prevent contracting the disease. But, if you actually listened to the CDC, you would know that is not the case.
As MetalSucks points out, the CDC notes:
“CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19. You should only wear a mask if a healthcare professional recommends it. A facemask should be used by people who have COVID-19 and are showing symptoms. This is to protect others from the risk of getting infected. The use of facemasks also is crucial for health workers and other people who are taking care of someone infected with COVID-19 in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).”
And yet, yesterday, Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer posted a video of his son, D'Angelo, wearing a Korn-branded mask with the caption “Don’t get the coronavirus, but get the Korn virus at Korn dot com.”
The mask, sold on the Korn webstore, is being sold for $10 a pop and is currently sold out. The item is the third best selling item in the Korn merch shop behind two different blends of Korn koffee.

Some fans on the Instagram thought that promoting the sale of the mask to folks afraid of the coronavirus was in bad taste. "Not a great look for you guys," says one commenter.
"You're[sic] seriously want to make a profit from the fear of Corona[virus]? Masks are not even useful if you're healthy." writes another.
Other commenters pointed out that the masks have been on sale for far longer than the virus was even known to exist.
Regardless if they existed or not before the virus spread, even leaving a tongue-in-cheek caption on a post seems slightly misleading in light of the serious danger here.
The masks are not in stock, but if you're itching to get one, you can get a notification when they are available at the Korn store.
