Cynic frontman Paul Masvidal has been planning a trio of conceptual mini-records titled Mythical Human Vessel since August 2018. While Masvidal hasn't formally announced the records just yet, if that's even still the plan, he does continue to tease them via Instagram. Masvidal's recent post shows off a new solo song being remixed by Warren Riker, which I think we can also take as Masvidal saying at least some of the material he's planning are done being recorded.
Cynic also released a new song last year titled "Humanoid." The song was their first with new drummer Matt Lynch (Trioscapes). A new Cynic album is expected in 2019.
