Iron Maiden played The Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California on July 1. After some fans started a bonfire, one attendee, Mario Esteban Barron, 47, claims he was pushed into the fan-created bonfire. Barron is suing Live Nation, Pavilion Partners GP, Staff Pro Inc. and Contemporary Services Corp for damages incurred to himself during the show as a direct result of the bonfire.
According to Barron in a story published by The Sun, he and his family came across fans moshing around a bonfire. Barron attempted to circumvent the bonfire crowd. He was unfortunately knocked into the fire, and "consumed by the flames, he accepted that he would not survive this ordeal." The lawsuits alleges that no security or first aid was immediately available and Barron was pulled from the flames by other fans.
Barron's lawsuit further states he walked to the front of the venue and received first-aid attention and was eventually taken the hospital to receive skin grafts. The grafts became infected, and according to the lawsuit, nearly caused him to have to have his leg amputated. Barron states he has not been able to return to his job as a sheet worker and is currently seeking unspecified amounts in damages.
