One day, three guys from Argentina decided that old skateboards should stop being old skateboards and start becoming guitars. So they made that happen, had a documentary filmed about them posted up by the Los Angeles Times and Pearl Jam took notice of the whole ordeal as well. How's that for ingenuity?
Check out the above video of the guitars being made and played. I was surprised by how good they sound! It looks like an easy enough process to make the guitars too, though I'm not exactly what most would refer to as "luthier." More appreciator of the arts.
