EVANESCENCE's Amy Lee Is Releasing A Children's Album

Have you ever wanted to hear Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee cover songs like Sesame Street's classic "Rubber Duckie," the Beatles' "Hello Goodbye," and the R&B standard "Goodnight My Love?"

Well, you can. The multi-platinum goth vocalist is releasing her first children's album, entitled Dream Too Much, dropping September 30 via Amazon Music.

Inspired by her two-year-old son Jack, the 12-song LP originally began as a present to her father John Lee, a guitar player and one-time Gong Show champion. According to Rolling Stone, he always played music in the Lee home and that is apparently where Amy discovered her passion.

"Dad has always been talking about making some kid songs for Jack to have later in life," Lee toldĀ Rolling Stone. "[My husband suggested,] 'You guys should just do it, get in the studio together, you've never been in the studio together, you're both musicians."

The album was a family affair as Lee joined her father in Fort Worth, Texas, for a few sessions that spawned into bigger project that the two had anticipated. Her dad played ukulele, dobro and banjo, while her sisters, Carrie and Lori, harmonized. Her uncle, Tom, plays guitar, bass and harmonica, and her son Jack apparently makes some sort of "cameo."

While there are some covers (mentioned above), a "handful" of Lee originals round out the record. One song, "The End of the Book" was written about her son and how he would cry when she finished reading him a story. Kinda cute.

Dream Too Much will be available to Amazon Prime members to exclusively stream at no additional cost next month. If you do not have Prime, the album will also be available to purchase and download for $7.99.
