GHOST Announce Two Headlining Arena Shows in 2018

Ghost's biggest shows yet.

Ghost's biggest shows yet.

Ghost held a "special sermon" moments ago in New York City's Irving Plaza. The event was hosted by Papa Nihil & Sister Imperator and it was a very free-form, loose event and the fans were excited to be in the presence of Ghost characters.

After playing some more teasers of new music, which sounds great, we learn that the band is on a mission to play bigger venues. Sister Imperator played another pre-recorded segment similar to the ones we've been seeing and then came the big announcement.

Ghost will be headlining their two largest shows ever, by playing two massive arenas in New York and Los Angeles. Sister Imperator announced that Ghost will have two large shows as part what they are calling "A Pale Tour Named Death." The two dates are:

Nov 16 – Los Angeles, CA – The Forum
Dec 15 – New York, NY – Barclays Center

These are, without question, the two largest shows Ghost have ever put together. They had played Barclays once before, but it was opening for Iron Maiden a few years back. This is the first time the band is attempting to play venues greater than 10,000 in cap, and explains why on their current tour, they are skipping New York City proper and going upstate. They want to make sure all their fans save their money and energy for the big arena shows. For the record, Barclays Center has a cap of 19,000 people and The Forum has a cap of 17,500. So that's a lot of fans Ghost will have to convince to head to these arenas. One would imagine the band would have a much larger stage production with the increased budget and stage area of a larger show.

Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10AM on Friday.

The lack of a tour name certainly gives it away.

"Rite Here Rite Now is a mostly comprehensive and extremely enjoyable—but slightly pointless—complement to Ghost's first film."
