THE PRODIGY Vocalist Keith Flint Found Dead At Age 49

Posted by on March 4, 2019 at 8:36 am

It comes as a tremendous shock this morning to learn the passing of Keith Flint, the wild frontman to the hard hitting electronic icons The Prodigy. It appears Flint took his own life this weekend.

Liam Howlett, the mastermind and founder of the group, confirmed his death was a suicide via Instagram only moments ago. “The news is true, I can’t believe I’m saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend, I’m shell shocked , fuckin angry, confused and heart broken ….. r.i.p brother"

A second message on the band's Twitter page reads "It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time."

Although The Prodigy rose to commercial success for their 1997 hard hitting album, The Fat Of The Land, the band continued to put out stellar records through the years including their 2018 release, No Tourists, which the band was currently supporting. They have become an international festival headliner through the years, a few of which Ben Weinman of The Dillinger Escape Plan joined them on stage for.

I'm one of thousands that already had tickets to the band's highly anticipated sold out return to the United States, their first in nearly a decade, which also included this years Chicago Open Air. There's been no word yet whether the band will continue with these plans in May.
