Devin went to bed, woke up and his crowdsourcing goals were met.

Devin went to bed, woke up and his crowdsourcing goals were met.

Over the weekend Devin Townsend launched his Pledge Music campaign to fund the independent release of his next album Casualties of Cool. Not only did he fund it completely in just a few hours, the goal was doubled in less than twelve hours. 1016438_757708150921176_801741305_n

At the time of this writing the campaign is at 275% of Dev's goal!

Townsend has promised all extra funds will be put into the Ziltoid 2  pot for "movies, comic, albums and an absurdly over the top live show." So even if you're not intrigued for the country-ish Devin, you can help to summon the next chapter of ZILTOID!

Click here to fund the projects and receive the album, autographed goodies, and other unique stuff.

The campaign's description also lists contributors like Morgan Ågren, Jessica Cope, Jørgen Munkeby, Kat Epple, The Swedish Sångkraft choir, and a string section. So even more guests people involved have been revealed.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!!

If you head to said link and click the player on the left, you will find a new track from the Casualties album called "Forgive Me." The song has a strong Ki vibe, which isn't surprising since vocals are shared with Che Aimee, who also appeared on the DTP's first release.

I fucking dig it, and will throwing money at Devin's project very soon.
