If you tuned in to this past Sunday's edition of The RIP a Livecast, you were privy to some new information on The Dillinger Escape Plan.
Guitarist Ben Weinman was on the phone from the studio in LA where the band is recording their new album.
The band has kept a relatively low profile as of late, with the only show on the schedule since the announcement of the departure of guitarist Jeff Tuttle being the California Metal Fest during Thanksgiving weekend. If you looked at the footage, you'd notice there is a second guitarist on stage:

Who was this mystery man? One caller asked Ben this very question, and he revealed that it was former Fenix TX guitarist James Love who joined the band on stage. Love has worked with Dillinger in the past, briefly touring with the band and contributing some guitar tracks to their covers EP, Plagiarism . Ben said Love is in the running to be the new guitarist and that they just have to work out some kinks to see if it's official or not.
Either way, I don't think the band would have any problems finding a new guitarist. Listen to the entire interview to hear more tidbits from the studio, an update on Ben's sideproject, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra and much more.
