Plus a new Svavelvinter album and Soultion .45 will begin writing!

Christian Älvestam always seems to be working on something, and 2017 seems like a year where we'll get to hear at least two of those things! Älvestam says he'll be putting out the debut album from his death metal project Svavelvinter, as well as the debut Ill-Wisher album.

For those unaware, Ill-Wisher is a duo consisting of Älvestam and 7 Horns 7 Eyes frontman J.J. Polachek. If you're unfamiliar with either of these bands, definitely check them out at the bottom of this post! Oh, and Solution .45 will begin work on its fourth album with new guitarist Ronnie Björnström (ex-Aeon, etc.), which I'd assume we probably won't see until 2018.

Here's what Älvestam had to say.

So what does 2017 hold in store then? Well, to begin with Erik Granström and I will be setting up a kickstarter campaign for the new Svavelvinter full-length album-to-be, at the end of January/beginning of February. The plan is to include all kinds of cool and limited products, as well as additional stretch-goal items. We are currently brainstorming at full speed, as you read this! The cover artwork, which was done by Pär Olofsson, was just completed and sure enough Pär delivered the goods, as always. Stellar stuff! Musically, I will start tracking the vocals as soon as my new home studio is up and running, which it will be at the end of January, if everything goes according to plan. More news on all this as it happens!

In early 2017 we will also start writing for what will be our third S.45 album (or fourth, depending on how you see it) with our new and invigorated line-up, which I'm really looking forward to. We will also complete and put out the debut album with ILL-WISHER, which will be a crushingly heavy piece of work!
