THIS IS ARMAGEDDON!: Norwegian Rockers AUDREY HORNE Debut Video For New Song "Audrevolution"
In our ongoing effort to celebrate Norway's past (and present) musical efforts, we are pleased to bring you the fourth installment of our semi-regular column, THIS IS ARMAGEDDON! As always, we strive to bring you interesting and informative content from those who live and breathe this music. From historical accounts, news, reviews, premieres – all the way to opinion pieces from the artists themselves – we attempt to uncover why True Norwegian Black Metal is as relevant today as the day it was birthed from the icy, frigid waters of the Nordic fjords.
Today, we take a bit of a detour from the all-out assault of Norwegian black metal, instead focusing on a band with some mighty ties to Norway's biggest and best of black metal. Straight-outta the birthplace of True Norwegian Black Metal (Bergen, Hordaland) comes Audrey Horne. Getting their start way back in '02, the guys have rumbled through a handful of super solid Hard Rock/Post-Grunge releases, and featured among their ranks members of Gorgoroth, Enslaved, Demonaz, Jotunspor, Ov Hell, God Seed, and Sahg.
With such a formidable collection of Nordic talent, it should come as no surprise that Audrey Horne are among the very best in their respective sub-genre, taking influence from equally impressive artists – bands such as Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, UFO, Motörhead, Van Halen, Kiss, Journey, Tom Waits, David Bowie, all the way to more contemporary acts such as Mastodon, Kvelertak and Hellacopters.
Three years after their much-praised Pure Heavy album, the guys are back with the aptly-titled Blackout – set to drop on January 12th via Napalm Records. From the thundering Iron Maiden-like leads of "This Is War" – to a serious amount of cowbell and twin guitar harmonies in the track "Blackout" – Audrey Horne deliver ten ass-kicking anthems dedicated to wine, women, and lone wolves. This is a rare combination of rock 'n' roll deliciousness that is certain to reduce venues across Europe to piles of dust.
We are stoked to present to you the North American premiere of the brand new video for the song "Audrevolution". Regarding this special reveal, the guys had this to say…
"We just gave you a war, now we bring you a revolution! We are super psyched to present the second single "Audrevolution". Viva le résistance!"
Pre-orders of Blackout are now available here.
