MAYHEM FEST Lineup Officially Announced: Slipknot, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Mastodon and more…

Details have been officially announced for this summer's Mayhem Festival, which is definitely picking up where Ozzfest left off. The lineup is quite stacked with a variety to appeal to virtually every mainstream sub-genre of metal.

Leading the pack on the main stage will be the already confirmed SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED as well as DRAGONFORCE and MASTODON.

On the tamer second stage will be SEVENDUST, AIRBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and 36 CRAZYFISTS.

On the br00tal third stage (or as the press release refers to it "another second stage") will be MACHINE HEAD, BLACK TIDE, SUICIDE SILENCE, THE RED CHORD and WALLS OF JERICHO.

The dudes behind this lineup are clearly trying to come out strong, as they have a virtual buffet of heavy music, a little something for everybody if you will. While official dates haven't been released, Blabbermouth has obtained the rumored lineup:

Jul. 15 - Fresno, CA @ Selland Arena
Jul. 16 - San Diego, CA @ Coors Amphitheatre
Jul. 18 - Phoenix, AZ @ Cricket Pavilion
Jul. 19 - Albuquerque, NM @ Journal Pavilion
Jul. 20 - Denver, CO @ Coors Amphitheatre
Jul. 22 - Kansas City, MO @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Jul. 23 - St. Louis, MO @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Jul. 25 - Dallas, TX @ Smirnoff Music Centre
Jul. 26 - San Antonio, TX @ Verizon Wireless
Jul. 27 - Houston, TX @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
Jul. 29 - Tampa, FL @ Ford Amphitheatre
Jul. 30 - Miami, FL @ Sound Advice Amphitheater

The routing is eerily similar to what a normal Ozzfest routing would look like. What do you guys think of this fest? Thumps up or thumbs down?

    THUMBS UP! anything that includes mastodon is bound to be incredible. even if everyone else sucks. which they don't..since 36 crazyfists is pretty incredible!

    pretty gay second stage thats a Nu-Metal extravanganza right there and the third stage wtf? how come machine head isnt healdining thats really disrespectful toward them i say take disturbed off the bill and have machine take there slot then atleast the mainstage will have a better line up

    well firstly i disagree with everyone disresecting slipknot and disturbed.
    they are both fucking amazing.i think this is a great lineup as well.
    slipknot is one of the main reasons i ma go. that shit is gunnah be s brootal.machine head is someone i cant wait to see ethier along with everyone else preforming.thiss is bound to be one of the most amazing concerts ill attend this summer.(:
