Every Thursday, Gimme Radio Program Director, Brian Turner, delivers the top 5 jaw-dropping tracks on Gimme Radio.

Culled from the week’s past shows, these tracks have the Gimme Radio DJs' seal of approval, have the listeners demanding more and the Gimme office buzzing.

FULL OF HELL – Burning Myrrh

What fresh hell indeed. FoH pick up the ball on their already-sealed mastery of HC/noise/metal slice-and-dice and lock in with surgical precision, boiling it all down to pure, simple, distilled malevolence. "Burning Myrrh" comes from their forthcoming Relapse LP Weeping Choir (out May 17th). Tours with heavies Primitive Man, The Body, and Genocide Pact ensue. The summer is theirs.

AMON AMARTH – Ravens Flight

Gimme-host-in-dormancy Johan Hegg promised a new milemarker for the Viking gods, and they return in top form. Majestic, hefty and blistering leadoff to their forthcoming Berserker LP arrival, Hegg's low-end vocal attack providing the wind in the sails and giving us nothing less than trademark AA. Look out for Johan's return for a special show on Gimme in mid April.

DEPRESSIVE SILENCE – Dreams

Guest DJ Clayton Michaels turned us on to this one in advent of his Dungeon Synth special (airing Friday 3/22 1pm ET on Gimme). Only around from 1994-97, Depressive Silence were among the cream of the DS godfathers, a darkened glow in corridors too alien for some pre-millenium Black Metal hordes then, but seemingly finding its place in the current world.

TRIUMVIR FOUL – Urine of Abomination I

Raw Death Swedes' latest sounds like a nuclear bomb coming through amp stacks. Tears Merzbow-like at the speakers for a good minute before layers of unfiltered gunk charge in with festering feedback and buried-in-dirt drums.

COLOURED BALLS – That's What Mama Said

A 1973 proto classic from Melbourne's late axewielding legend Lobby Loyde, a no-nonsense extended stomp through one riff and one belated chorus punctuated by some electronics and a vibe so heavy and hairy that it was sure to extended a few Sharpies' mullets by a few inches upon listen. Safe to say the Oz heavies of today all cut their teeth on Lobby, Billy Thorpe and others of a 70's scene that still resonates and rattles windows.
