United Nations is an excellent hardcore band fronted by Thursday frontman Geoff Rickly. The band, which started as a goof, ended up getting into a legal dispute with the actual United Nations which got pretty serious. Anyway, the band is back with a new album called The Next Four Years and played a release show a few weeks ago in Brooklyn.
In attendance was SNL's Vanessa Bayer, sister of Jonah Bayer who plays guitar in the group. Vanessa was kind enough to "roast" the band before the started performing, although it comes off more as an anti-roast, and in fact a lot like her young Bar Mitzvah boy character, Jacob, on SNL – an absolute favorite of mine. Still, the clip is pretty funny:
