Disney appears to be warming up to heavy metal in the past year. The company put out a power metal covers album of famous Disney tracks, and one park-goer even saw a drumline in Disney World using August Burns Red's version of "Carol Of The Bells" as a part of their act.
This stands in contrast to Disney's old habit of allowing the House Of Blues in Downtown Disney to book metal bands, and then promptly banning them after the shows were announced (Every Time I Die, Thy Art Is Murder, Exmortus, Skeletonwitch… the list goes on).
Now Disney themselves are putting out an instru-metal album called Disney Super Guitar, which features the likes of Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society) Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), George Lynch (Dokken, KXM, etc.), Orianthi (ex-Alice Cooper), and way more.
You can hear Wylde doing his rendition of "Beauty And The Beast" from the film of the same name, as well as Paul Gilbert shredding "Under The Sea" from The Little Mermaid, below. Disney Super Guitar is in stores now.
