Macy Gray, whose song "I Try" you absolutely know and will sing along with regardless of how metal you are, has a new jazz album called Stripped out on September 9. The album features a jazz rendition of "I Try," a few originals, and a list of cover songs that includes Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters."
Say what you want about the choice, but Gray's rendition of the track paired with her voice is downright fantastic. It might take a listen or two to really pin down how the original translates over to this version, but it's worth it.
