It'll feature a Bathory cover.

It'll feature a Bathory cover.

Three years and one entirely new band later, Abbath is back with a brand new record. The former Immortal frontman will release his new record Outstrider on July 5, and while no singles have yet hit, you can hear a teaser for it below. Outstrider was recorded at Dub Studios with producer Endre Kirkesola (Blood Red Throne, In Vain, Green Carnation, etc.) and will feature new guitarist Ole André Farstad, new bassist Mia Wallace and new drummer Ukri Suvilehto. The record also includes a cover of Bathory's 1988 track "Pace Till Death" as its closer.

For reference, Abbath's debut 2016 record featured bassist Tom Cato "King Ov Hell" Visne (ex-God Seed, ex-Gorgoroth), who left in 2018 due to conflicts over Abbath's lyrics, and drummer Kevin "Creature" Foley (ex-Benighted, ex-Mumakil), who left before the 2016 record even hit shelves.
