The Simpsons Apologize For Labeling JUDAS PRIEST "Death Metal"

…in the form of punishment for Bart Simpson.

...in the form of punishment for Bart Simpson.

Last week, Rob Halford and the rest of Judas Priest made a cameo on an episode of The Simpsons dealing with piracy. You can watch Priest's cameo here.

There was some chatter online disapproving of the show labeling the band as being "death metal," when they are definitely not.

I guess word got back to the writers of the Simpsons, who used the outrage as inspiration for Bart's end-of-day punishment in the intro of the episode. Bart can be seen in the intro of this week's episode writing "Judas Priest is not 'Death Metal'" over and over on the chalkboard.

Kudos to the Simpsons writers for goofing on the bogus internet outrage.
