EXCLUSIVE: Former Divine Heresy singer sets the record straight about his departure

When Dino Cazares released his statement to the Headbangers Ball Blog stating Tom Cummings was fired from Divine Heresy earlier this week, Cummings called Metal Injection and said he wanted to set the record straight. We sat down with Tom and he opened up all the vivid details about the band's final show in Poughkeepsie, the altercation where he shoved Dino down and what it was like being in a band with Cazares, as well as what you can expect from him in the near future. Back In The Day - Overkill

In the early 90's you couldn't possibly attend a show without seeing several Overkill T's in the crowd. Rightfully so, because the New Jersey legends have been churning out horn waving thrash tunes since '85, and doing a damn fine job ever since.

The 1991 release "Horoscope " LP saw the band in their heaviest fitting up to that point, complete with fame producer Terry Date . This was the first record following the loss of long-time guitarist and song writer Bobby Gustafson , despite fans' worries concerning the "new" Overkill, the band managed to pump out what some consider their finest and darkest work ever. This early Overkill DVD clip montage for the track "Coma " isnt an official release, but it kicks ass anyway.

TONY DANZA TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA interview is probably most random yet

Its the end of the night, we just watched BENEATH THE MASSACRE get their show stopped because of too much violence, as well as get some interviews with BORN OF OSIRIS and SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY. Then, Danza was up. As we were approaching the band, drummer Brandon let us know that the singer, Jessie, was pretty drunk. Talk about understatement of the year. This was seriously the most random segment in MI history. It was pretty great. Luckily we caught up with a more sober Danza, this past weekend at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and we'll make sure to get that interview up really soon. OZZFEST happening in Dallas as speculated, METALLICA announced as co-headliners

Looks like we jumped the gun when we said that there wouldn't be another Ozzfest . Blabbermouth is reporting that the 2-day festival is scheduled to take place at two seperate stops, with the Dallas stop shaping up to happen on August 9th and 10th, with OZZY set to headline the first night, and METALLICA to close out the second. RIGER MORTIS has posted on their Myspace that they would be playing the Saturday show of that weekend. Things are getting interesting…

What's this? An ALL NEW METAL Injection, That's What!

Welcome to the all new METAL Injection mega experience. What you are looking at is the culmination of approximately a year's worth of work, and much more planning. This is the site we've wanted to deliver for quite a while. This is definitely the biggest site refresh we've ever done.

The section to undergo the biggest facelift is our Video section. You can now sign up and upload your own videos. We accept anything from live bootlegs you shot of your favorite band, you showing off your shredtastic guitar skills, to your unsigned band's videos. There will be a constant barrage of new videos uploaded non-stop.

Everything has been re-done from the bottom up. This has resulted in all our previous forum members to be erased. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but if you register again we have created a new Junkies section , where you can interact with other junkies, see what videos they've uploaded and leave them a comment telling them how much their taste in music sucks, and even subscribe to others' videos

Also we have brought back the ever popular Gallery , uploading all of our archived photos. We will be adding a ton more very soon

In case you were wondering where The FIX went, we have put the show on a short hiatus for the time being, while we get this new site going. The Fix will be back in about a month with a slew of awesome new episodes.

With that said, having this new system in place also guarantees that we will be able to bring you Metal Injection content such as exclusive interviews, our bootleg series and a ton of other new show more frequently. In the past, when Frank finished editing a show, there would be an entire extraneous process to go through to get it online…but not anymore! This is just the beginning of a new era of MI.

Finally, this site is super new and definitely in a beta phase. Its so huge, we realize we may have overlooked some bugs. Please, if you happen to find a bug or a page that doesn't look right, e-mail hatemail@metalinjection.net describing the situation, if you did anything to cause the bug (We won't blame you…promise) and what browser you are using.

    NECROPHAGIST update: New drummer, side project and tour

    NECROPHAGIST have posted the following update:

    “Romain Goulon joins NECROPHAGIST as the official new drummer. The band and Romain look forward to working together on the new album. Meanwhile, check out a video of Romain playing to guitar tracks from the album ‘Epitaph’ at NECROPHAGIST ’s official YouTube channel .

    The band wants to thank ‘human metronome’ Marco Minnemann for playing drums on last year’s Summer Slaughter tour. It was an honor and a lot of fun playing with one of the world’s greatest drummers.

    However, Marco Minnemann and Muhammed Suicmez decided to launch a whole new band. Commented Muhammed : “I am very excited about this, because jamming with Marco inspires me to come up with great ideas and I have a lot of respect for Marco as a composer. So forging a whole new style by mixing mine and his is something I can’t wait to do, because not only is Marco one of the best drummers in the world, he is a great guitarist also.”

    Stay tuned for news updates about the writing process for NECROPHAGIST ’s new album as well as Marco and Muhammed ’s new band.

    Also, it was just announced that NECROPHAGIST will headline the Canadian leg of the SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR heading out with DYING FETUS , BENEATH THE MASSACRE , INTO ETERNITY , NEURAXIS , WHITECHAPEL , VEIL OF MAYA , DIVINITY , and COMMON GRAVE . The tour will start in Quebec and is expected to go throughout the country from East to West ending in Vancouver tentatively on the 27th of August.
