A friend of mine, Rory, has stated that Roadrunner always like to release a “You should’ve waited 6 months special edition” of their bigger releases, or in this case, 9 months. Included on the re-release are 4 bouns tracks: "Be One," "Let the Bridges Burn," "This Fire," "Holy Diver (Dio Cover)" and there will be a DVD included with the package including the videos for "My Curse" and "The Arms of Sorrow" (and special making-of featurettes) as well as a music video for their cover of "Holy Diver"
> IMMOLATION will have their latest album, “Shadows In The Light”, released on July 31st through Night Of The Vinyl Dead. The release will be limited to 444 copies on a “splatter” style vinyl, and will include a colour insert. You can go to the website of Night Of The Vinyl Dead at this location for more information.
> COALESCE have posted some details about their upcoming DVD release (which can be seen below. Full details available at this location.
> DAATH have cited a poor choice in tour bus investment as the reason they have missed a bunch of OZZFEST stops recently. Click here to read the full message.
> SUSPERIA recently sent out a message detailing some of their tours, and a few canceled dates.
“It’s been a while since our last update, so time to do some catching on what’s been going on with the band.
Our tour with WASP and the short UK tour in April and May was hectic but successful, however it wasn’t without problems. We had to cancel the dates in Sweden due to illness throughout the band and crew. We were all hit by a bug that was going around and Athera lost his voice. We apologize to anyone who wanted to see the band, we are trying to set some shows up soon. Thanks to everyone who came along to the shows.”
We're back up; Big Updates Coming…
Posted by RobInjection on July 30th, 2007Hey guys,
After a tumultuous weekend, we are finally back online. We apologize for the downtime and any dope-sickness you may have experienced from not getting your Metal Injection fix. The company we registered the domain with apparently went out of business a few months ago (didn't tell us) and switched our domain to a different company (didn't tell us) and it expired and of course, nobody told us. Fantastic! Took me a whole day of phone tag to get things back up and working again.
As a reward for being so nice and patient, we will begin putting interviews online from New England Metalfest later tonight. OH SNAP!

CD Review: Chaosfear - One Step Behind Anger
Posted by 3D on July 27th, 2007Hey! These guys named themselves after a Meshuggah album, so they must be on of those Meshuggah influenced bands! Oh, sorry, that was “ChaoSPHERE”. They vocalist does bear a striking similarity to Jens Kidman’s bark though.
Thrash is the order of the day from this underground Brazilian band. They manage to pull their influences from 3 different decades at once, and in fact part of the fun in listening to “One Step Behind Anger” is trying to figure what band they ripped off at which time. They’ve made a good choice in bands to steal their riffs from too, from Slayer, to Machine Head, as well as The Haunted.
“One Step Behind Anger” can be an enjoyable to listen, mainly because it actually sounds like the band had fun playing it, although the song titles would have you believe that they’re angry about all the rough times they’ve been through. Let’s be honest, songs titles like “Driven By Hate” and “Hard Time For The Wrong Man” are just way too obvious.
Chaosfear’s debut is certainly driven by the kind piss and vinegar a youthful bunch of lads making a first album would have, but it lacks a unique voice. They do a great job of ripping off Slayer, Machine Head and The Haunted, but in the end, bands like Hatesphere have made their way on inserting some good hooks and finding their own voice. The rating is a point lower due to the derivative nature of the album, but if you do manage to get your hands on “One Step Behind Anger”, you’ll at least have a lot of fun while the ride lasts.
6/10
